iPad

Well today was an exciting day for this teacher.  My iPad was delivered to me at 4:00 by Mrs. Fisher with the instructions "to play".  Now I'll admit I'm not really into Apple products but I have wanted an iPad for awhile now, but I could never really figure out my iPod (I know this is ridiculous but I really didn't care to take the time to figure it out) and wanted to try one before buying one of my own.  So I spent about 5 minutes "playing" and already have a list of apps I want to buy.  Funny how I could figure this out, but not my iPod.
I contacted a fellow teacher in Winnipeg, whose blog I have admired for all of the cool techny things her students have done, for some ideas.  Here is the link to her blog.

I can't wait to get started using the iPad in the classroom!

MINI STICKS

It was for the student council grades 4 to 6 and Carson, Ethan, Blake, and Rylan. We  were versing Mackenzie then Jayden. We lost but we were still in 2nd place. We had to defeat Tcee.  We had won against  them then we were back  to  versing Jayden.  I SHOT, AND SCORED! I HAD TO TRADE WITH ETHAN.  RYLAN  ALREADY SCORED about 2 goals in the 2nd game, Ethan had 1, Carson had 1 goal,  Blake had 5 goals. WE WON THE GAME!  WE GOT  FIRST PLACE IN THE MINI STICK TOURNAMONT!

Mini Sticks Tournament

The Mini Sticks Tournament was an event for the Student Council grades 4 to 6 on January 26. My name is Ethan and my team mates were Carson, Blake, and  Rylan.  For the mini sticks ternament we went against Keltin, Tcee, and  Zack.  We won the game 6 to 0, then we went against Makinzie’s team next. We won the game then we went against Richard’s team where we lost 2 to 1, but we had to beat three more so we had to vs richard’s team  again and we won it 5 to 0.  Then Tcee’s team and we beat them! Then it was Trenton’s team and we beat them too!  Rylan’s goals added up to 20 goals, I got only 1, Carson got 1, and Blake got 18 goals.  That’s how we got in first place and won the tournament!

New Year

Happy 2012! We have been back to school for almost 2 weeks, and have been too busy to blog!  But that means we will have a bunch of blog posts soon, because we will want to share our work.  I hope everyone had a happy and safe Christmas (and holiday) and are looking forward to the year ahead.

I think the students are all happy to be back into their school routines and I could tell that they missed one another over the holidays.  I certainly missed them and I even got a few hugs on the first day back so I took that as a sign they missed me as well.

Thanks for checking in, and keep coming back because the students have a lot to share!
